CLINICAL ASPECTS

1- marked and diffuse retractions;
2- woody consistency of the muscles.

 

IN COMMON WITH OTHER PATHOLOGIES

– involvement of respiratory muscles;
– preserved intelligence;
– presence of skin abnormalities: keloids, exuberant or thin scars, wrinkled skin (follicular hyperkeratosis);
– CPK (serum creatine phosphokinase) value normal or variably elevated;
– no cardiac involvement.
